Is a satellite system still necessary in new buildings, or is IPTV sufficient?

In the past, there were certainly the same problems with power supply. When we are 10 years further, no one will care about internet availability and stability anymore. By then, the next big thing will be the main topic again. We are also currently building and have abandoned satellite in favor of IPTV. I have been using the technology for 7 years in our current apartment and during that time I can count the (then admittedly quite annoying) network disruptions on one hand.

Yes, of course we were too, especially since my girlfriend is doing a distance learning course... It was only referring to the TV reception.

As unwanted compensation, they made the next mistake in the end and gave us a youth rate, even though I am 29 years old. Total mess. That's what happens when you have to call a department in Slovakia and Hungary for a circuit fault.

Yes, of course, in every era there are this or that things that people get upset about and suddenly cannot live without anymore. Television, internet, car, telephone...pick something.

About three months ago I made some modifications to the rack and the cables for the Sat receivers no longer fit. Since none were immediately available, I wanted to buy or make some the following week. Of course, I didn’t do that and since then we haven’t had satellite TV anymore. To my own surprise, we don’t miss it at all.

It started out pretty much the same way for me. Ten years ago, a strong storm bent the dish. Since I was too lazy to climb, I left it at that. Not having to get annoyed about the TV program anymore gives you an enormous amount of quality of life back!

When we watch TV somewhere again now (recently in the hospital...), we know after just five minutes what we DO NOT miss. And we do consume some kind of AV media almost daily. Just the ones we really want. Movies with good sound and picture come from the disc. Series with original audio/subtitles all come via streaming, and on YouTube you can even really learn something with a bit of effort!
