Is a satellite system still necessary in new buildings, or is IPTV sufficient?

That's why my question is what that has to do with Sat. I don't understand the connection.

The original question here was: since more and more is being streamed, is it still sensible to have a separate satellite system in a new building at all?

The point behind it is: Whoever relies solely on IP and has no SAT could, for example, be facing a black screen in Switzerland.

Without knowing Switzerland... I cannot imagine that they restrict IPTV (such as [Magenta TV] here, for example). Classic streaming services, possible. But regular TV, where news, sports, cultural programs also run. I cannot imagine.

So I have no problems with my IP-TV... still don't miss a [SAT connection].

What I have often wondered about IPTV: a set-top box is required for each TV, right? That would really annoy me. Two remote controls and, besides a modern TV, another box again. That’s why I would tend to go for SAT and have Netflix on only one TV, for example.
