That's exactly the point. And for that, the OP deserves criticism for not providing clarity here and also not revealing his ideas regarding the building structure and its position on the property.
Hard to say. I'm not much of a design talent. "Underground garage" - the property slopes up by one meter to the north. So instead of 2.50, you only have to go 1.50 down. You would have a half-story towards the street. Whether the lighting requirements can be met there is questionable, but not impossible.
So we are thinking of a mirrored L as the building structure. A terrace could be built on top of the underground garage. This way, one could go around the house. An above-ground garage is out of the question because the ground floor would be way too dark. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides would mitigate the narrow/elongated shape of the room. Also, the kitchen is planned there. As you can see: we've already given it some thought.
