With dozens of exclamation marks in various comments, it sounds as if this were the revelation of the century and one had originally expected the craftsman to be more expensive.

It is often like that...
Example with us:
Bathroom cabinet:
- WxHxD 140x40x70
- Solid oak 30mm thickness
- 2 compartments

We wanted to have it made by the carpenter, in the end, it’s just 5 boards and a hole. 2 quotes, each over 2000€. Then we looked at ready-made items, of course, nothing fits, but the price is more like 1000. Then there are various custom furniture websites, there it’s more like 1500.
Conclusion, I had the planks cut and planed at a "Holzbude" and for a small cost contribution worked in the workshop sanding, oiling, and gluing everything myself: Cost 300€.

Anyone coming from the IKEA direction probably feels the same.. Anyone who has looked in furniture stores at what you have to pay for a relatively well-made display cabinet with lighting will then realize that a carpenter can be worthwhile.

Yes, there are.

Currently, however, we are primarily working on being allowed to get closer than the 1.20 m approved in the building permit to the tree. I had mistakenly assumed 1.50 m the whole time, sorry.

Also, there are not 2 upper floors planned, but only 1 upper floor. That apparently was also misunderstood.

Furthermore, I am sorry that the whole thing has now stretched over more than 40 pages. Believe me, I am not doing this to annoy anyone here.

There are three of us and we are modest. Lots of space also means it has to be heated and cleaned We have already given up on the granny flat in the basement. However, the basement will be partially developed.
