The insight regarding the garage is good news in my eyes. However, the concerns about the practicality of the buried garage, especially the incline of the driveway and the cost aspect, were already raised months ago, almost a year ago in this thread. Anyway, no big deal, we also had such changes during the planning phase.

But does that mean you now have concrete cost estimates or is there even a house construction contract by now? I keep my fingers crossed!

Yes, 10 cm. However, this was already done with the underground garage version. The terrace had to be built 10 cm higher because of the roots.

What annoys me: If the architect had at least presented us with 2 versions side by side, we would almost certainly have decided against the first version.

And yes, the high costs were pointed out here. We were aware of this circumstance. We just didn't think the difference would be so extreme. The architect also didn't do his homework on that.

And no, we have not yet commissioned any contractors.

To be continued....

Looks really good visually! Don’t get too upset with the architect, this will accompany you throughout the entire construction phase. No one can identify with the project as much as you do yourself. What is important to you, you always have to take care of yourself, keep calling, asking, pushing until it fits.

I have a quick side question: We asked the architect for the 50s plans for our records. He said it is not common to hand these over to the homeowners in the case of a single-family house, but only for multi-family houses and generally larger projects. That is nonsense, right?
