And instead of Dad, confront his wife with the designs and comments.

We don't agree with the OP on that at all, because he (with himself or with his wife?) is not even agreed and sometimes wants to be able to stand in the attic and other times doesn't want one at all. I don't even know if he himself has noticed that in between he briefly mentioned that he might as well just go for a town villa - which, in my opinion, would make the builder happiest of all, since it has become a general favorite model by now.


It is certain that a hip roof in the angle comes at an even higher cost.


I am now wondering how much longer the builder will have patience, overall the course strongly reminds me of Morbus StanSch (after the green forum then again in 288 posts here: )

Don't understand your pity for the developer. He doesn't even get anything from the discussion. And asking for permission is really legitimate. I always do that too.

No sympathy – but he is a businessman, and if a customer is undecided for too long, another one quickly becomes just as likeable to him. Then another property comes into play, and most of the considerations distilled up to that point become meaningless.

Basically, you don’t need one if the roof pitch is chosen steeper. In my example, however, it is only a 25° roof pitch, so a knee wall does make sense in this case.



Despite the width, the house should fit on the plot. I really like the shape, great layout of the rooms, living, dining area, kitchen is excellent.

I also think it’s very good that the garage is in the front.

At least among my top 2 floor plans!



Overall, I have already seen many floor plans. Not only here, but also from the planner, the internet, etc. But you have undoubtedly made the best suggestions so far. I feel I am quite a bit further than at the beginning of the thread. But I realize that I learn more every day. That scares me!

If I can explain to my wife what advantages something offers and she doesn’t see major disadvantages, she usually agrees. If something is especially important to me, I do push through at times, but I want her to feel comfortable with the decision as well.

What else do I need to clarify regarding the roof and attic question? What could be done above and what type of roof do we want?

Not all properties have been sold yet and he will not find others who want and can buy around here that quickly. Besides, I currently call about once a week. So we are in contact. I would not worry about that at least for now.
