Sorry, but the idea that the subwoofer plays a bigger role than the washing machine is nonsense. Am I forbidden to express wishes?

Of course, I show my wife the floor plans, why shouldn’t I? My father lives 200 km away, I only show him a few. My wife gets to see all the floor plans.

That one should also have understanding for a BU is comprehensible. I am an IT consultant myself and often notice that my clients’ wishes change during the project and the work was then for nothing.

I think that a gable roof is a given for your requirements.

Can you please clarify exactly how the 5m distance to the road applies to garages? Does this also apply to carports and would such an option be possible?

Is it then okay to take a flat pitched roof and a higher knee wall? We like that visually better. Could you maybe explain again why a pitched roof is a given with our wishes? Is it because you can simply position the stairs in the floor plan, because of the better area in the attic, or? Leaving costs aside...

The garage must have a distance of 5m to the street. Regarding carports, I have found nothing in the development plan. Therefore, I think no. Yes, a carport would be an option.

Here is the excerpt from the development plan.

For garages, a distance of at least 5m to the access road must be maintained in order to briefly park a vehicle on the property and not obstruct traffic on the access road when opening the garage door.

I think we have already found very good floor plans. Here are my top 2.

If you now also add a knee wall to the large main structure, it will blow the budget. The roof is already barely included as it is. Personally, I see it more as a DIY job – but with 2 small children, that's unrealistic. In my opinion, you can be glad if you get the stairs, floor, and insulation under the roof done – beauty aside. In addition, a knee wall would increase the space under the roof – that means more area and the price rises with every centimeter. But you don't need that space at all.

In my opinion, the gable roof is the most cost-effective and suitable solution for your wishes. It provides enough space – even without a knee wall, plus windows in the gable for appealing rooms. Also, it looks better with a steeper roof pitch than, for example, a hip roof. However, I still wouldn’t go over 31°. At 1.20m, I would excavate. That would be approximately like this in the last design:

By the way, the double casement window above the stairs already brings some light into the hallway below.

If that were possible, I would not attach the carport to the corner bungalow. I think it looks better if it stands free. However, the question is whether it can stand 3m away – otherwise you will have to put it 2m further back.

I wouldn’t take a knee wall with your suggestion either, I also like the look as it is. I agree with you about the carport… standing free is better. Thank you very much!!! I really like it and it offers many advantages compared to the previous drafts.

I personally also find it the best, I must admit. However, the bicycle issue still needs to be resolved. In addition, I would consider the heating and its dimension. Should it be air heat or geothermal heat? With air heat, there is also the outdoor unit.
