Exactly, that is the most current one. Yes, my thought was that the entrance would be on the northwest side if you take the floor plan.

Oh, okay, I had missed the relocation of the entrance, if it was mentioned anywhere. Personally, I wouldn’t want to do without an arrangement of the "kitchen-dining-living hall" facing the sunny side, but I hope you know your priorities better than I do.

I didn’t mention it but just did it mentally.

I wasn’t even aware that the living, dining, and kitchen area was so dark. I therefore think that we have better floor plans. In our rented apartment, we have the living room on the south/southwest side and large windows. Even in winter, with good sun, it becomes very warm and bright in the living room, and you also save heating costs.

The stairs not only take up space but also cost you a lot of money and limit many possibilities for arranging your rooms because they can't be completely freed up. That's why in our example there is the option to push the kitchen into the living area, remove the partition wall, and convert the old kitchen into an office/guest room. Possibly enlarge the storage room a bit so that the office doesn't become too large. You definitely have enough space for that. Our living room/kitchen is 80 sqm. Others have that as an apartment!
You must not forget the electrical and heating lines for your attic office. You don't want to freeze there in winter and roast in summer. Also, you can't have a cold attic, you have to insulate it completely. Alternatively, only insulate the office upstairs and keep the rest cold attic, but then you need a specially insulated door so that cold and mold do not penetrate into the building envelope.
Guest shower: Last year we had friends with their little daughter visiting. For them, the man is more like the woman and needs a bit more time in the bathroom. We got along great with 4 adults and 3 children. Usually, you go to the shower at staggered times anyway. I have a very different rhythm than my kids. My husband showers daily and mostly in the morning. I don't want to waste my time on that. The kids will usually shower too.
When the boys enter the Puma phase, it's in your interest that they don't block the shower several times a day.

So I took the trouble to shift the walls a bit in our floor plan to create your office and enlarge the storage room a little.
I furnished the rooms as we currently have them, so you get an idea of the space available.
As you can see, my son’s room (5 years old) is quite crowded. But that’s because of his Lego and Playmobil collection, which needs to find space somewhere. I don’t know if the play tables will stay much longer, since the time when he plays standing is slowly coming to an end. Then he will also have significantly more space in the middle again.
My daughter’s room (1 year old) is still used as a guest room and my husband’s children from his first marriage sleep there when they visit.
Later on, a larger wardrobe will go in there, the baby crib will eventually move out along with the changing table, and then we’ll have plenty of space to fill the walls with storage options. In other words, the rooms are big enough. You just have to get a bit creative with the shelves.
The bedroom is tight. You can effectively only put the bed against one wall or where the large wardrobe is and then without bedside tables. But there is plenty of space for that too! You’re only sleeping there. But it can’t get any smaller either.
The only downside: the kitchen is a bit tight, but maybe some extra space can be squeezed out by moving the window.
