The red line is the ridge wall, right. I do not divide anything, and blue is the four and a half meter height line of the rooms with open roof underside on the ground floor. The gray area is the attic. Developed or developable means with gable and knee wall that instead of trusses only rafters can be used – but that is still less complex (and ~costly) than hip roof.

You don't need a knee wall on your floor area as well.

The original poster wants an upper floor where you can stand - we agree on that? Do you have that in your building?

Oh, right!

Completely new approach:
Crossbar with flat roof extension.

- Technology on top
- Division between kids and parents area
- Space under the stairs could still be converted into an additional storage room
- Bay window in the living room of course optional
(The stairs are not a landing)

What is still missing:
- Lighting concept for the hallways needs to be carefully considered – maybe some light with spotlights from the roof.
- Bicycle shed must be built separately – possibly a permit-free wooden hut?

Edit: Probably better as an angled bungalow with a hipped roof.

Exciting, this thread. After well over 200 posts, it feels like no progress has been made, although the usual diligent helpers never tire and keep making suggestions one after another. Normally you quit when the OP seems resistant to advice... so hats off to the perseverance. I, as a lurker, have the feeling that the sheer flood of floor plan suggestions overwhelms the OP to the point that he couldn't decide anyway and now has even more options. A big problem I also see: the woman should ideally log in here and express herself, some things that would eventually take effect with the OP are being shot down from the female side. But of course the biggest problem is the roof and attic question on which everything stands or falls, and here practically no progress is made. A pity for the great floor plan tips and drawings, but I think the OP should take a break and gain some distance. Then come back with clearer statements in tow...
