That sounds like it does in Upper Franconia
There in the village, the fully developed plot is at 29 €, and in the “city” around 50-75 (depending on the location)

I find the budget is already very tight.

We fully financed and took out a total of 280,000 €. However, we had an undeveloped plot. I am still waiting for the development costs. we’ll see

The house price for us was 220,000 €. So we had a buffer of 60,000.

At the moment we have spent 250,000 euros (including complete furnishing) and only have the final invoice of about 6,000 and the still open development costs left

So 237,000 for the house with cellar and plot is almost impossible

May I ask how far something like that would be from the nearest metropolitan area?
When I consider that I had to pay ten times as much and that is even supposed to be a bargain...

However, it should be said that I had civil engineering/earthworks/house connections/soil replacement with 0 euros in the calculation, since my partner is a foreman in civil engineering and we did it ourselves, which only cost us the fuel for the excavator and the materials. Also, the entire surveying was done for a case of beer

And these items can definitely be quite expensive...

It is close (25 min) to Bayreuth (if that means anything to you) It’s just under an hour to Nuremberg, 1.5 hours to Leipzig

That reassures me a bit (completely neutral meant). After all, I live directly in Berlin then. Meanwhile, a look at my future bank account makes the Polish border look increasingly attractive. Well, I can sell again when I retire. Then probably multiplied by ten again, while the land prices in Frankfurt Oder stagnate. Then I'll buy 1 ha there. *Dream*

Yes, nobody wants to move to the former border area even though it is really beautiful here.

I still have an apartment in Freising, but since my partner moved in with me, we wanted to get a bigger place in the Munich outskirts... no way, the 3-room apartments start at 700,000 EUR.

so we are keeping the "small" apartment (as long as we are still working) and have basically now built the house for free space and old age on the parental property.

Despite the financial double burden, we still pay less overall than a 2.5-3 room rental apartment in Munich.

it is so sad
