I think I don’t want the additional window above the window. I find that it worsens the appearance of the house. The idea with the fairy tale sounds good. It should also be possible from the outside using a ladder, right?

Thanks, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

I'll leave the curved staircase for now.

What would bother me is the relatively small living room, into which only a tiny table fits (We have 10 sqm more than you and I find it perfect). I also find the sofa in front of the terrace door pointless, and generally, I miss a window facing west in the living room. Also bothersome to me is this somewhat haphazardly put together kitchen (a cabinet here, a cabinet there), the slightly too large guest room, and the awkward entrance area where you don’t quite know whether to go straight, left, or right. If you can break away from the (boring) symmetry of the facade, you might like my suggestion. You come in here and immediately have the wow effect. Through a double glass door you have a direct sightline towards the garden. I would solve the kitchen with a sliding door. The utility room would be accessible from the kitchen again, so you can use it right away for supplies. And since you want to do laundry upstairs, you only enter it to get the vacuum cleaner and stuff – so rather rarely. Upstairs, you could pick up the wide window in the middle in the office.

First of all, thanks for your feedback. The living/dining room isn’t huge but it’s okay. I am now having the window at the dining table changed to a large sliding door, I’m curious how it will look. Maybe I’ll change it back again. Our table isn’t bigger, so I only had a small table drawn in. I don’t find the sofa in front of the patio door to be a problem. To be honest, I find the long wall better because you are flexible regarding the design of the wall unit. I had the kitchen redesigned in an L shape. But it’s not that important because a kitchen planner should finalize it anyway. I find it impractical in your floor plan that you have to go through the utility room to get to the kitchen. An open kitchen always has to be tidy, but my wife and I tend to leave things around. Therefore, a closed kitchen is better for us. Also, the argument that you can use the utility room for storage doesn’t count for me. The kitchen is already huge, and you can hide everything nicely in cabinets if you want. The wow effect is definitely there in your floor plan because of the large door to the living/dining area. But that’s not what matters to us; we want it simple and practical. The entrance area also bothered me at first – that you don’t really know whether you should go left, right, or straight ahead. But I have already seen that in other good floor plans, so it’s okay for me.

Sorry, my iPad turned it into the wrong word. Märchen = kärchern.

Curved staircase = staircase rotated 180°. Just like in the original Lindeneck floor plan.
