Isn't that a matter of taste, and do you think the amount of light in a room increases evenly with increasing window area? Sometimes additional windows hardly bring any gain in light if there is already a light source elsewhere that illuminates the room well. Like, for example, two windows at a right angle – one doesn't add much because the other already lights that part of the room.
And some find it pleasant to be able to retreat sometimes and not have to sit in front of a window all the time.

We do not have a new offer yet. The offer for the bungalow stated a clear room height of 2.50m.

The windows in the living room are indeed strangely low, it should be at least about 2.20 meters from the top edge of the finished floor. Even with the lowest permitted ceiling height.

Because the window would otherwise hit the stairs when opened without double sashes.

Because the window without double glazing otherwise hits the staircase when you open it.

Who needs a window that can be opened directly next to the staircase steps. You would fall over it coming from above if you’re not careful or bump into it coming from below.
