I don’t know if it makes any sense to say anything at all since hardly anything changes despite various hints, but I’ll do it again:
There is no space to use the closet next to the bed. Move the wall to the office back by 60 cm and then place the closet flush with the door. Patio door behind the sofa is nonsense, the walkway of the other patio door in the living room is blocked by the dining table, the west window is completely missing in the living room.
All windows upstairs are too narrow (except the double casement window).
Congratulations on the double casement window in the stairwell – what a long labor!
That the bedroom is too narrow is known to us. I think I have already written something about it. We currently have a similar setup in our rented apartment. Only that our bedroom in the rented apartment is half a meter narrower and we have a 160 cm wide bed plus about 50 cm deep Ikea Malm closet. My wife and I are not very tall, so we don’t need a 200 cm wide bed. Okay, it gets tight when the kids lie in the bed as well and one could also have a 200 cm wide bed but I hope that will stop at some point. The room is 3.96 m wide and after subtracting a 2 meter bed, you have about 98 cm on both sides if you don’t put a closet on the office side. If you put a closet on the office side, there are still 68 cm left. That’s not much but with a 180 cm wide bed you would have 78 cm. I therefore think this is okay. Moving the wall to the office back again by 60 cm would be an idea but then it gets very tight with my office furniture. By the way, not all office furniture is drawn in the floor plan.
Where I agree 100% with you is that the patio door behind the sofa is suboptimal. However, I have found no solution for that. The west window will be difficult because of the shed. Just a normal window would worsen the appearance from the outside. Do you have an idea?
I don’t find the walkway of the other patio door in the living room blocked by the dining table to be a problem.
The west window is missing in the west because the shed will be built there later.
The windows upstairs are wide enough for me in the children’s rooms. Too narrow from my point of view only in the bedroom and bathroom. We also have a double casement window in the bathroom and the bedroom is mainly used for sleeping. If you need light in the bedroom, you can go in front of the window or turn on the light.
... why have a kitchen island at all? In a closed kitchen?
We currently have an open kitchen with a kitchen island in our rented apartment. We don’t like the former but we love the latter. If you have a better idea, feel free to share it.
Why don’t you make a proper kitchen island (with cooktop on it) and leave out the cabinet at the top right?
I would also make the room doors taller.
Best regards
Sabine
We already do. The oven is on the left side when you enter and the cooktop is on the kitchen island. Look at the last picture. Which cabinet at the top right do you mean?
