What did you indulge in at the house, what did you give up?

Well, otherwise we would have closed off the staircase. We have the kitchen, dining room, and living room arranged in a kind of "U" shape with the staircase in the middle; otherwise, everything is open. The dining area is directly connected to the kitchen and therefore visible, with an angled view the sofa corner should also be visible. Yes, communication is definitely possible. In addition, on the other side of the staircase, the storage for the CDs and LPs is planned; otherwise, you would probably be looking at them from the back.

: That sounds really good. And the staircase, it's open, so is the base of the staircase in the living area or in the hallway? So when you go up the stairs, do you face those in the living room? Hope I’m making myself clear.

I think I know what you mean - I probably expressed it wrong. So the stairs are already closed off, but we would have closed off the space under the stairs anyway. It is a concrete staircase, since we really curse our current wooden stairs. So when going up, you don’t see into the living room, and the stairs don’t start there either, but in the entrance area. Maybe I'll sketch it out in the next few days, I have time anyway ([krankgeschrieben bis Donnerstag]).

Hello,

we are at the end of our planning, finally...

We have given up on the basement!! Hopefully that was a good idea, but we would have had a 130 sqm basement, way too big... and possibly water problems, since we live in an open-pit mining area (Hambach).

We treated ourselves to
- a large conservatory extending from the roof
- approx. 230 sqm of living space for 4 people
- our "adult rooms" completely on the ground floor
- open kitchen
- many glass surfaces

Hey Weimy, where exactly at the open-pit mine are you building? That's where I grew up.

I also intend to have such a toilet installed, have you already gained any experience with the soiling and would you buy such a toilet again?
