What did you indulge in at the house, what did you give up?

Sorry, I don’t know any individual prices, in my opinion we got a package price for aluminum + motors compared to the planned plastics. (And that was my husband’s construction site. ) No idea what a single motor cost.

Ugh, I’m happy for you too, but I unfortunately don’t like these spotlights. They just dazzle me from below. (Or from the side. Or from above... ) Unfortunately, that’s also modern in public areas, and I’m not particularly thrilled by it. It’s nice when thick snow falls on it, then it glows mysteriously and doesn’t dazzle, hehe.
The rainwater cistern also died from cost-cutting with us. It just doesn’t really pay off financially in the long run, even taking water prices into account.

At least it’s great for the environment if you have a cistern! You can pat yourself on the shoulder. That’s something too. (no irony)
Wow, natural stone wall. How should I imagine that, one of the interior walls is built from natural stones?
And if I may be that curious, how many square meters is your house? Because I find it difficult to imagine fitting office/gym/guest room all on the ground floor. (<- I also take that here as *amazement*, even if there’s always “eek” next to it. )

Natural stone wall: cladding with quartzite strips
Office, sports and guest is one room One is completely enough for us, as already said: there are only two of us... I'd like to make a smiley now, but on iPad I can only use the common characters.

So our spots are actually nicely discreet and don’t dazzle. They have a nice warm light.

Oh man, you really shouldn’t look in here too often, because you really only get "stupid" ideas stupid deliberately in "".

may I ask how many m² the wall was and what kind of price you have to expect? I’m asking because I know my lady absolutely wants that on a wall, possibly on the living room wall behind the TV or a transition (in the corner) between two walls. Possibly also gladly with pictures of your dream wall

I would have liked to have a wall like that too, but we had to choose between a natural stone wall or high-quality carpet for the upper floor. My choice fell on a not-so-cheap velour.

I also find the lighting of the steps very chic. My husband does not. We then agreed on wall lamps.

The [Zisterne] is only desired but not mandatory for us. We will install an above-ground one next year. It fits behind the garage and is supposed to collect the rainwater from the garage and the carport. I am curious whether we will manage to do it the way we imagine.

13 sqm for 400 €, of course self glued

Maybe not glued perfectly, but we don't care

I just thought of 3 more granted electrical highlights, maybe one or two are interesting for you:
Built-in radio in the bathroom
Main switch (like for the light) for the outlet where the receiver and TV are connected
Two-way switch for the bed lights, to have mood lighting before going to bed (on at the door, off in bed)

Regards Yvonne
