What did you indulge in at the house, what did you give up?

Prioritization is very important. You (or most of us) cannot afford everything, but many things, you just have to make a choice. It is also interesting to think about what is really not important to you personally and where you can save. More difficult than you think. At the beginning, you think some things are not important, but when you see the cheapest version of it, you realize that you do have at least a little demand for it. For example, we did without plastered ceilings in the rooms, the price-performance ratio was clearly negative.

Then I'll also give my two cents here.
We treated ourselves to: (move-in in November)
200 sqm terrace
12-meter-long pool on the ground floor facing the garden (southwest) – the window front can be fully slid open over a total length of 12 meters around the corner.
Living room with home cinema and house bar/counter including ice maker and small beer fridge (TV - 62 inch in the floor – i.e. basement – retractable, screen and projector come down from the ceiling)
A 33 sqm kitchen with dining nook (separate dining room – 28 sqm).
Sound system in kitchen and dining room via Sonos.
A Censys system.
We have so far decided against bus control based on previous experience.
Every bedroom/kids/guest room has an en suite bathroom.
Hot and cold water connection in the garden, irrigation system for same.
A double garage (8.87m wide) and an additional double parking space.
Indirect stucco lighting in the main rooms on the ground floor, hallway, upper floor hallway, and master bedroom.
Indirect lighting in the swimming pool.
A master bathroom of almost 30 sqm modeled after the Cheval Blanc Randheli.
Laundry chute with access from: kitchen, upper floor hallway, master bath upstairs (clothes can be thrown directly into the drawer in the washstand).
A large convertible skylight in the attic.
A very spacious staircase with hallway.
An airlock – (second entrance possibility to the house) – it is 10 sqm large and has cabinets, washing machine (wife’s horse stuff), and shower for the dogs.
An elevator.
35 sqm dressing room for the wife.
Clear ceiling height ground floor 3 meters, upper floor 2.50. Baseboards with stucco look in 13 and 10 cm height respectively. Doors are 2.20 to 2.40 high. Doors have listed building protected cassette door look.
Each floor has a storage/utility room for all cleaning/vacuum etc. utensils – I am not a fan of central vacuum systems.
Air conditioning in master and children’s bedrooms as well as the attic.

We have actually not given up on anything we wanted.

My dear Scholli!!! I'm just a tiny bit jealous now. And I thought we equipped ourselves pretty well... Was the price still six-figured for that?
