What did you indulge in at the house, what did you give up?

Even though I have already been somewhat active in the forum here, we made the mistake of planning the staircase in the entrance area on the floor plan. Thought about it too late.
And in one post, I saw a floor plan with such a fancy concrete staircase. I simply liked it. No idea if it has significant pros or cons.

As a little 'make-up,' we will stain the staircase, so it won't be made of beech. I don't particularly like beech.

Cheers, torsan

: Hm, I didn’t quite follow 100 percent. You would have preferred the staircase to be in the living area? In the entrance area, it’s, uh, also quite common?? So we didn’t want the staircase in the living area. It also transmits noise more strongly to the upper floor. What if one person is still sitting downstairs with friends and another has already gone to sleep upstairs – and then the sleeper wants to drink a glass of milk or something and doesn’t dare to go downstairs anymore. So in my imagination, such scenarios come up. Concrete stairs definitely make no noise and are less sensitive than wood.

Exactly @ willWohnen, without due to the openness
Torsan, for this reason we changed the stair run and a quarter-turn staircase became a half-turn staircase so that it is not located in the entrance area. I actually only read that here in the forum, although I have only been here for a short time

Oh, by entrance area you mean, right close to the front door, now I get it.

I believe torsan means a staircase directly next to the entrance door. Was attention drawn here to the dirt in winter, through which the kids have to walk in socks if the staircase leads upstairs directly after the door
