What did you indulge in at the house, what did you give up?

Oh yes, 19 sqm is a nice size. You can fit a bed and a desk and still have floor space for trains and the like. 12 sqm for the technical room is good, we only have 10, also without washing. (Washing in the upstairs.)

We will do it that way too, washing on the upper floor. Maybe that can count as a treat.

I hope that also proves useful, washing on the upper floor. In the laundry room there is also the large "dirty washbasin". Maybe it would have been better on the ground floor after all, because you actually have to carry big, dirty things that you want to clean up the stairs (in our case also without risers). But - my husband offered me this week to install a small utility sink next to the door in the technical room. Apparently, there is just enough space next to the first connections. Then I can clean dirty shoes or something there.

We don't have something like that, but so far we haven't missed it either. We didn't have it at my parents' place either, and honestly, I'm hearing about something like that for the first time right now. I clean shoes outside anyway, and with dirty clothes we do it like with the occasionally messed-up clothes of our daughter from the daycare: put them in a bag and throw them into the washing machine.

We treat ourselves to:

[*]a good location of the property
    [*]a larger property than needed
[*]full ceiling height on the south side
[*]quiet air heat pump (external installation) + multifunction storage tank

[*]additional 35 m² expandable in the attic
    [*]a lot of basement replacement
[*]4-leaf lift-and-slide door with venetian blind

    [*]worry-free financing
    [*]carport
    [*]possibly photovoltaic
    [*]the best architect
    [*]large bathroom
    [*]large children's room

We forego:

    [*]single-family house

    [*]fireplace and chimney
    [*]basement
    [*]possibly garage
    [*]colored windows
    [*]dormer
    [*]roller shutters everywhere
    [*]modern frills
    [*]large bedroom
    [*]Kfw 70

Air source heat pump rings a bell, we have one too. Also one with an outdoor installation. Horizontal rotor? My husband just said, we also have a multifunction storage tank. Converting the attic wasn’t an option for us anymore. We discussed that the longest. It’s definitely off the table, we would have also had a hard time giving up space for a fixed staircase up there. Do you have a fixed staircase included right away or initially only an attic hatch with a pull-out ladder?

Single-family house?? I really don’t get it. Single-family house??? What is it, a semi-detached house?
