What did you indulge in at the house, what did you give up?

If I do a complete renovation in thirty years, then the staircase will be moved elsewhere. Until then, I will be annoyed about it! :-P

Or rather live with it.

: Oh yes, I read the thread. I would definitely have rotated the staircase too!! Thumbs up!

: Cheer up, it surely has some advantages as well. I noticed that a lot when planning the house: every decision has its price and for every (subjective?) advantage you accept a (perhaps smaller) disadvantage.

Oh, I wouldn't be so annoyed about that. See it more as a detail and no one who comes in will ever criticize it.

: This rubber anchor staircase is also a bit creepy. If you stand on it and quickly squat down and stand up again, the step swings quite strongly. So you really have to trust the technology, it feels weird intuitively.

: hehe

: By the way, I had a girlfriend when I was a teenager, whose parents had built a new house. The wooden staircase started immediately on the right when you entered, with a quarter turn, and then went straight up. And I thought that was great back then. Why, I can't say. When she came down from above, she could stand on the warm wooden step and open the door for me. It also looked somehow nice when you stood in front of the front door and looked inside; the staircase came towards you, practically welcomed you, and you could look up to the next floor. It had something inviting.
