I consider 40 EE to be the most pointless class ever. Anyone who indulges in building a 40 house and puts a photovoltaic system on the roof also has the money left for the storage and ends up with 40+. Let's calculate 5kWh storage for 5000-6000€, additional subsidy compared to 40 EE is 3750€, so the storage costs about 2000€. You won't get a storage cheaper anywhere else.

Do you need photovoltaic for 40? I thought only for 40Plus?

For 40 you only need the building envelope. But for the EE class then as far as I know a photovoltaic system.

And where do they come from? Usually from the heat pump with photovoltaic. Of course, I overlooked that there are also people who burn pellets or similar. They could possibly also count as renewable energy. But for the average builder, RE is certainly a photovoltaic system on the roof that can cover 55% in calculations.

In my personal case from [Nahwärme] - it is 100% renewable.
