Yes, I also think that’s how it should be. Especially with a semi-detached house development, there are quite a few details to consider. How did the discussions go beforehand? Was he friendlier then? What suddenly triggers him now? HIS overbuilding? Affected dogs often bark, wanting to distract from their own problems (overbuilding).

Great how your husband reacted!

And I can empathize with you, having trouble with the neighbor is a shitty feeling!

And it's similar. We are also building into a gap in the buildings, but this one is 2500m2. The neighbors take liberties with everything. They knowingly build over OUR property with part of their parking space, drive over our property with their construction vehicles, bicycles, use our property as storage for their construction work, and so on and so forth. We don't care at all, let them do it, we have enough space around the house, we haven't even approached their border in the slightest. But at the same time, every single, and I mean every single, move on our property is watched with eagle eyes. Recently, our gardener sprayed the weeds with an organic agent, and then there was writing 40m over OUR property about what he was doing.

Presumably, our mistake was that we should have shown our neighbors "their" borders much earlier. The mistake of our neighbors is that to avoid having neighbors and their construction site, they should have bought our property. Actually, quite simple!

The talks went quite well. More factual with my husband, more personal with me. I don't know exactly what annoys him. Honestly, I don't even think he wants to distract from the development. When I go on vacation, I look forward to the beach so much that I forget my fear of flying. But when I stand at the airport, I feel really sick. Maybe that's a metaphor that applies to him. Or my wishful thinking. But that's just a guess.

Yes, I fully understand that too. Something new is coming, something unknown, how will it be, and so on and so forth, it's understandable to get nervous, but certainly not abusive!!

I have the feeling that people are just going completely crazy right now. Especially the older ones - of course, they are particularly panicked or completely frustrated. I was at the university hospital yesterday - just a check-up appointment. What was going on there! The elderly (all except me over 60) were yelling at each other in the hallways, and at the staff as well. Totally aggressive just because it wasn’t clear who was next at the registration. People’s fear has become so great, it is reflected on every level - at the smallest occasions they completely lose it. As a doctor, I would have given everyone a shot right away. Something - the main thing is they calm down again.
