Hello Altai

be glad that you have neighbors who talk when something bothers them. still better than spraying the blackberry with Roundup at night.

I have been following this thread since the beginning about a week ago. And I’m really scared about the time after moving in. I can only hope that Berliners are generally a bit more relaxed. Luckily, we have already gotten to know our future neighbors from the backyard property a little (shared property) and have done some handiwork together on the property (trees and bushes). So far, they seem super relaxed. But we have only heard the neighbors next door so far. Ultimately, humans are strange animals. But I do think the idea of introducing yourselves and offering cake or something as compensation to the neighbors before the construction begins is good. That way, the upcoming disturbance might be forgiven a bit more easily, and you don’t move in with such a big negative balance on the "goodwill" account.

Planting a blackberry bush at the border is a bit - well, let's say - thoughtless. These plants were and are used to repel enemies. The branches with thorns are hardly passable without a chainsaw. They easily grow 4 meters wide and keep spreading along the ground. If you were my neighbor, I would be happy. I love the fruits and have enough space. But with the 300m² plots nowadays, half the garden is gone.

Well, I admit, when I planted the plants there, I didn’t think that far ahead. I saw a few blackberry canes with a diameter of 20 cm. At least they don’t have thorns.
Some of it just quickly disappeared into the ground because it had to get out of the pot before winter. That doesn’t claim to be final...

Oh, and I didn’t actually want to complain, , it just happened to fit, and I openly admit when the neighbors are right...

Animals themselves can't even be that antisocial.... either you play along or you don't survive.

It is mostly the "independence" in humans that makes them antisocial.

, send the Serbian mafia over, you'll surely get thousands of likes .

Our property was an orchard for three generations. All the neighbors had been eager for decades and were just waiting for it to be sold. We found out by chance that the now 85-year-old owner wanted to sell and got in touch with her. Since we wanted to close the deal immediately, we offered to pay above the market price and ultimately received the approval.

You can imagine the mood among the neighbors when they found out that people from outside the community had bought the property. People were already condemned before the construction project even started and before anyone had the chance to introduce themselves...
