And why is this an outrage now? If someone fears that and draws the consequence for themselves that they would rather move away than have the supposedly child-hating neighbor next door, what is wrong with that? They are making room for another family with children.

"without giving the neighbors a chance"

That says it all !!!!!!!!

There are well-behaved and ill-behaved children, but to label them all the same is then not understandable !!

Well, but if they already live there then first selling the house is at least just as stupid

That is interpretation, giving the neighbor no chance. You have to allow everyone to choose their own living environment. And to change the living environment if it no longer fits their own style. It is certainly much fairer if someone consistently moves away than if they remain a nagging or inwardly dissatisfied neighbor.

Why should a person complain if the children give no reason to complain?! Let me guess, you have no children? Do you have a dog? A friend's mother-in-law has 2 dogs, one is just barking. I once asked for the reason. Answer: because he is blind (sounded very funny, but it is sad) There were 5 children nothing compared to.... No one would now come up with the idea to sell the house and move away.

And why not? People also move out of apartments that are poorly insulated and where you can hear every step of the neighbor from the apartment above.

And yes, children are not inherently loud. But if someone fears that and decides for themselves because they do not want noise from children or airplanes or cars or barking dogs or whatever in their life, then everything is okay.

It is much worse if that person stays and either develops a stomach ulcer from suppressed discomfort or makes life unpleasant for the neighbors with equally inappropriate demands.
