You know your floor plan is close to perfection when the house construction forum spends pages discussing only the opening direction of the WC door…

I really don't understand why there's so much discussion about the direction the bathroom door opens. For us, there was no question at all with the first house. What's the disadvantage if it opens into the hallway? Besides the obvious "emergency services" issue, there's also the fact that when opening inward in such a small room, I practically have to pull the door into my face or almost fall backwards over the toilet. Why would anyone want that? The problem occurs with every visit to the bathroom, while the problem of the door crossing with another door in the hallway is rather a rare coincidence.

I haven’t read everything now. But 1 m width should always be enough. With a 60 cm door the problem with the sink relaxes, which also exists in narrow versions. Isn’t there a possibility to place the WC under the stairs?

81 posts about the guest WC.

Is there already a final result?

I had expected at most 2-3 answers like "There is no DIN, make it as wide as you want" and then the thread would disappear into oblivion

The conclusion is that 1 meter is enough, the general contractor would agree to build it that way.

But there are a few other things to consider. Pretty much everything is interconnected with such a house plan. The guest WC is planned to be made as narrow as possible. However, there is a dependency on the stairs. Only if we can place the stairs so that you can still exit the attic at a spot where there is sufficient standing height. At least with one design that was not possible. The house height depends on the required setback area to the neighbor. But there is still a little room to move up.

Long story short: If the stair position allows it, the guest WC will be 1 meter wide. Swing direction not yet decided.

I have made the following changes.
The left wall of the toilet was reduced from 17cm to 11cm.
A smaller door (60 cm) so that it does not conflict with the entrance door.
Door opens outward.
Narrower washbasin.
Window in the toilet.
Door to the living room moved so that the entrance can be used as a wardrobe.

Your questions show that your floor plans are not yet fully functional. As others have already said, just show them.

Best with the completed questionnaire.

To be honest, I did not understand what you were getting at, so I did not write anything about it :D

I have never noticed anything from my neighbors, if that’s what you mean by sound.
