Also a good idea, but of course you need a lot of space if you want a "big" kitchen (> 16 sqm) and a large living-dining room (> 35 sqm)... How big is your living room then?

We have reconsidered. We will probably actually switch again and combine dining and kitchen. Then a rather small living room (14 sqm) that can be separated from the dining room by a large glass sliding door.

But 14 sqm for a living room is in my opinion very small, I would rather separate the living-dining area from the kitchen with a sliding door, then it would look more spacious and you can open it if needed.

Our living room is 34 sqm, the living and dining areas are approximately the same size. We have a total of 149 sqm of living space, on the ground floor: utility room, kitchen, office, living room, hallway, guest toilet; on the upper floor: bathroom, 3 children's rooms and bedroom.

I once voted for "Miscellaneous" because:

We will have: a separate kitchen, with seating for 5 people (no longer small ); living and dining room as one space – although the dining table will probably only be set up when guests come (otherwise this area will turn into a children's play corner). However, laziness might get the better of us at some point, so we might later just leave the dining table standing.

The kitchen will be separated from the dining/living area by a glass sliding door.

Why the main dining area is in the kitchen: We want the family to eat together in the kitchen (as much as possible). Additionally, we want to try to avoid various distractions for the children during meals. Everything is more interesting than food for our daughter. By eating in the kitchen, a spatial separation is created from toys, TV, etc. (only the radio is allowed to play).

Ha - this room had its own name with us: Mom-Dad-Relaxation Room Unfortunately, in the end it fell victim to the budget cuts because a larger house would have completely blown our budget.

: it's almost like with us: GF kitchen (16), living-dining room (36, of which 16 are living room and 20 dining area), utility room (12), office (12), technical room (4), storage room (2m2 under the stairs), hallway (14), WC (3). and on the upper floor 4 bedrooms each approx. 16m2 and 2 bathrooms (11+6) + attic (approx. 40 for playroom + 20 for storage area) Total just under 200m2 + the attic
