What I really like about our window planning are the corner windows. Attached is an example.

Why? They don't actually bring in more light.

In this case, it is actually purely the appearance that I like very much.

However, I don't see any indications of shading that would be discreetly integrated, but rather it looks like their absence or that this is an old plan version with roller shutters and windows not quite floor-to-ceiling (?) It doesn't bring more light that a window goes around the corner – but it does bring more light if it is cleverly placed (and in some cases around the corner). And it fits better with the trend, which even in prime locations increases the value of a property. Although I think these architects keep the hipness of the look within an aesthetically acceptable framework, i.e. the building won't be made ridiculous in twenty years by today's fashion trend.

My wife had actually wanted corner windows as well, at a spot where a 3m window would meet a 2m window. Our architect said that something like that would only work with a concrete pillar in the room or a steel beam in the corner of the window (which with cladding would also be 20x20cm in size). In the end, we decided to execute the corner as a normal reinforced concrete pillar (36.5x36.5cm), since we definitely did not want a pillar in the room.

But such windows are indeed nice. If it’s not about such large surfaces, it would probably work without a pillar. But I would ask the architect about it.
