What is your opinion on windows / balcony doors without a lintel.
A lintel "shades" the reflections of light that hit the ceiling through the windows and are then reflected again, contributing to brightness being "scattered from all sides" around the occupant. "Without a lintel" therefore means a noticeable increase in brightness – whether this shifts the perceived sunset by about fifteen minutes is something that may be perceived differently. However, it also simultaneously means a bit more grazing light on the ceiling surface, which slightly emphasizes the unevenness of its plaster texture.
Technically, with ETICS wall constructions combined with external venetian blinds, it is easy to ensure that the shading box visually hardly "stands out" in front of the floor slab. Where roller shutters are occasionally desired, I would probably choose ones with rounded boxes. But from my impression of your architects, they will already have something in mind that even meets with my approval. And they probably are not doing this for the first time, so I assume completed reference projects exist.
