Yesterday, quite heavy equipment was brought in to pull out a large part of the formwork. It was more than impressive...

So, a few sentences about what is currently happening at our construction site.

Last week, most of the shoring elements were moved by the shown mobile crane, as the underground garage area is almost completely concreted. Since 7 a.m. this morning, a truck fleet is on site because the entire excavation for the building is now taking place. The shell construction crew is also here - like every day - with 7 people. Once the excavation is done, work on the basement areas or the pouring of the basement floor slab will begin. We are very satisfied with the shell construction crew, who will likely accompany us for the next 8-10 months. Really nice people who understand their craft and work in a structured manner. Coordination with our architect and the other trades is also going very well. We also spoil them and bring a load of drinks every week and at least two snack visits per week. I myself am actually on the construction site almost every day - even if only for a few minutes.

The electrical and also the HVAC planning are running at full speed and will be completed soon, so there is no delay in sight. The contract for the elevator has already been awarded, as we need the company for the initial work over the next four weeks.

Funny enough, our kitchen planning was already completed before the start of the shell construction.

Best regards to everyone!

Well, then it's going well. Hope it stays that way. :)

That should be more the rule than the exception, because it is always better to coordinate the kitchen space AND the kitchen fittings. Moving finished walls by two centimeters afterwards is usually not possible even with a crane. ;)

That's true . Planning the kitchen was definitely fun and very satisfying with the result. Especially because we finally got our long-awaited kitchen island with 3m :)))

I'm glad to hear that. But for such a block, there must also be enough space available. Of course, if there's one or two centimeters less room in front of the block than recommended, that usually works, but if three sixty-centimeter cabinets are supposed to fit into a niche and the niche is only 1.80 m wide, that is very frustrating. That's why we already went to the kitchen fitter with the more or less final designs AND afterwards measured again ourselves in the shell construction phase, so that in the end the crucial centimeter is not missing, because the shell builder/architect will just shrug and say in case of doubt: "Now it's too late."
