Exactly, I would not ban that (I would call it luxury) either. Just tax it disproportionately.

I don't want to attack you personally now either , but you are not the center of the world. The scientific consensus is the one supported and implemented by our government. And that's exactly how it should be.

Should I actually comment on this nonsense? Sure, it's like the completely side-effect-free Corona vaccination. It was just a little prick after all.

Fortunately, I can still decide for myself whether I trust people like the children's book author Habeck, Mrs. Baerbock, and a kitchen helper more than my common sense.

We could have had the same discussion here 45 years ago. Back then it was about night storage heaters. Away from fossil fuels, environmental protection, oil and gas unaffordable due to inflation. Germany heats electrically. Newly built houses were built without a central heating system and without a chimney. Of course, only in West Germany. The GDR was better off. Cheap gas from Russia and a lot of district heating were the preferred heating systems.

Anyway. Banned in 2009, allowed again in 2014, today once again a popular alternative to the heat pump, as we are now preferentially heating electrically again in the context of the heat transition. People just like to keep their flag in the wind.

But I am off track anyway. AfD voter, vaccine skeptic, climate denier, friend of Russia. The full program!

It's a shame that our society has to deal with stuff like that, but we'll manage it.

Hey, honestly: I don't think such statements are acceptable! You don't have to like opinions, and as you can see, discussion is necessary. But what you're presenting is divisive. I also disagree with such opinions 95% of the time and am happy to engage in louder discussions. These are also parts of society, just like LastGen and associates.

LOL. Rarely have I read such nonsense. Popular alternative to heat pumps? Not used anymore in new buildings, a tiny niche product in old buildings (of course there are still many old existing systems). Alone the electricity costs are a deal-breaker for anyone with even a little bit of IQ. Why? Electricity is converted 1:1 into heat. Heating electricity is — if available — still expensive. So why should I install a night storage heater, which then has double the electricity consumption, compared to a bad heat pump that maybe produces €2,000 heating costs per year with a COP of 2?

Sorry, but here too it becomes clear that you have no idea.
- In the GDR apartments were smaller than in the West
- In the GDR the construction quality was a disaster
- At the time of reunification almost 20% of all apartments in the GDR had no own bathroom or toilet
- At the time of reunification about 50% of the apartments in the GDR were heated decentrally, mainly with coal ==> in the West at that time about 90% central heating systems existed
- At the time of reunification in the GDR about 30% of households rated their house as ready for demolition

I wanted to express my displeasure at having to deal with such people and bear the societal costs for it. I also find petty old people annoying who hassle children or dog owners who let their animals poop in front of our door. But I wrote that our functioning society can handle that and that such things simply belong to it. I do not see that as divisive.
