Ultimately, the issue with gas heating in new buildings is a speculation that the focus will be more on Power2Gas in the future, instead of investing huge efforts in upgrading electricity distribution networks and building power plants that only operate in winter, because hardly any electricity is needed for heat pumps in summer.
The absolute focus on heat pumps is ideology-driven by the Greens, who do not allow any alternatives.
But that can quickly change if the next government, for example, is led by the CDU.
I have been a Green voter for many years, but this narrow-mindedness of the Greens in many areas will make me vote for the Yellows in the next election.
PS:
There are still millions of gas heating systems in use. We simply cannot afford to let the gas price rise to absurd levels. Because as nice as this debate here is,
those who live on minimum wage or are single parents with two children... cannot afford to buy a heat pump. And they cannot bear the rent increase if the landlord carries out comprehensive renovations.
These are debates that completely bypass about 80% of the population.
