Planning kitchen appliances. How to proceed. Market is not clear

Are AEG still that loud? We had such a brand and then decided on a Miele. We were surprised how quiet, but also heavy, it is in comparison. At the same time, it is quite clear to me that there are hardly any reasons to replace a household appliance as long as it is not defective. Even with a freezer, it may not always be worth buying a new device just for more efficiency.

By the way, anyone planning to buy a "normal" hob without extraction should take a look at the Neff devices with the Twistpad. I was skeptical at first, but it has proven to be incredibly good.

Are AEGs still noisy? No idea. Frauens Bosch W4 is whisper quiet, and also only the 499,- class. My statement was only about the durability of the components. For example, we have a very old Privileg fridge in the garage. It’s impossible to kill. It is used for storing drinks for garden parties, of course it goes off the grid sometime in October. In our old house we had a Gorenje stove with a convection oven and ceramic hob. Indestructible. Still works today. My cousin, who bought the house, still uses it. Our Siemens washing machine lasted from 2004 until now 2017. That was also a 499,- model, ran and ran. Never even one repair. The old Siemens dishwasher lasted 14 years, it was bought back in the DM days. I think it was 1099,- marks. Could have been a hundred more or less. What use are the nice features if the shock absorber doesn’t hold, if the motor blows, if the drum becomes unbalanced, the pump gives up, the compressor seizes, the refrigerant evaporates, etc. Technically it would be no problem to design these appliances to last 25 years. Unfortunately they don’t. But it seems to me Miele still has 15 in mind, BSH ten for the better devices. Others just want to survive the warranty period. If our dishwasher really is from Whirlpool, I fear that after the five years of Ikea warranty it will immediately break down. The Americans never managed to build anything proper. Karsten

In our old basement a Miele was running and this machine in parallel. There really wasn't much difference. Both ran very quietly (so no rattling or vibrations etc).

we have, induction hob and oven from Siemens, extractor hood from Berbel, refrigerator from AEG, dishwasher Siemens. The refrigerator was part of the bundled package (or whatever it is called) including all other electrical appliances cost 50 € more altogether than buying individually.

I took the trouble to write down my list of devices along with all the prices they would cost me if I picked them up locally. I think this way I am optimally prepared for the conversation and can simply have the devices that are outrageously priced deducted from the offer if necessary, then see if it’s worth getting the devices around the corner myself.

It was quite a shock that the list prices and dealer prices differ so enormously.

For example, my complete Bosch electrical appliances cost a total of €9008 according to the list price. At the dealer around the corner, I would pay €5530. I could probably push the price down further if I bought them on the internet, but that wouldn’t be a realistic comparison.

Nice piece, even baking, etc.
Only the fingerprints that appear on the silver surfaces are really annoying. Why they didn’t use "anti-fingerprint" there will always remain a mystery to me..

But definitely all visible appliances from one brand and the same series!
