I actually only know that cooktops throttle due to lack of power. Most plates have their own power section for right and left with about ~3600W each. If I now activate the boost for the rear plates, the connection value is almost reached, and the front ones have to throttle down.

A plate with 11 kW usually has 3 power sections with about ~3600W each.

I have a Bora cooktop. It always cycles when a burner is not turned up to full power.

And how often exactly do you need the boost 3 times simultaneously?

I really cook a lot. Scenarios where more kW were necessary or even just helpful have never occurred.

Time savings in the kitchen come from organization, not from +/- 3.5kW.

For example, I know from Bosch and Whirlpool that the cooking zones only heat about 75% of the time at the highest levels. Even when only one cooking zone is turned on. On my first Ikea cooktop, you could hardly bring a pot of water to a boil on the 2 kW halogen cooking zone. My Neff also "cycles" in the boost level, but only minimally. In this respect, the connection value is only of limited significance.

I assume that is due to the nature of the cooktop's control. It is either on or off.

Exactly. I only use the Boost for boiling water for tea. I steam all kinds of vegetables in the steam cooker and use the hob for frying and sauces. Power is rather secondary there.
