In other words: if it’s not Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, it’s rubbish?! You can’t be serious, right?

A Mercedes for the living room and a KIA for the utility/storage room. What's wrong with a Mercedes?

Who can still seriously say today that they will live in the same house for 30 years? Those times are over. Just like the times when people bought a wall unit for their wedding and at best passed it on. That’s where Ikea picks up. Price is one thing, the need to have something new/different more often is the other. Nevertheless, I appreciate quality, but I combine it. Aside from that, I don’t need a single new piece of furniture for the move, everything is already there. I could even take the kitchen with me if I wanted to. I’m leaving it here because I’m tired of it (it will be about 3.5 years old when I move).

Fight fire with fire ...

Besides, there is experience behind that, if I may say so at my tender age. When I look back at the stages of the last 10 years, hardly any of it was planned, but rather happened.

Well, then that’s quickly settled: you’re simply starting from something wrong
As far as I know, there are some here who are currently building houses, Nordlys for example, so your assumption should be disproved...[emoji6]
Aside from that. Nearly all the furniture in the public area at my place is custom-made by a carpenter...should I now also speak disparagingly about self-builders (and their choice of furniture) who rely on Hülsta or similar – or in other words on off-the-shelf products? Just to elevate myself and feel "better"? What influence does it have on ME if, for example, Nordlys likes IKEA and I prefer the carpenter? Exactly, none at all.
If the quality is absolutely sufficient for him, even a LEICHT kitchen would economically be total nonsense for him. Don’t you think so too?
