Excessive costs for the kitchen?!

Thanks for the excursus.

Not at all, I haven’t even named any wishes yet. Simply: "I need a kitchen, 6-8m, dishwasher, stove, oven, fridge-freezer combo, budget 10K EUR."
- *eye roll*

Then when the wishes came (cooker hood, cassette fronts, preferably quartz composite countertop), there was only contemptuous laughter.
What can I say, with Ikea I can get all that for 8K EUR even without driving to Poland.

But maybe I’ll secretly take another look at kitchens in a social thrift store...

It's unbelievable what topics come up in a kitchen thread. In our family, we regularly discuss social issues and mostly have a rough consensus, although I might be a tad more radically left (the softies vote green, I vote left). Because of that or independently, I'm baffled by how many emotions flare up in an open forum when it comes to kitchens. About kitchens!! Hello?? Kitchens, not cars, murder, and manslaughter.

So, I'm currently in love with a wall-mounted B3 in Cashmere. But my budget is unfortunately exhausted at the moment, the pool is also postponed until the next (larger) profit distribution. For the kitchen, I'll either take my used 10-year-old Nobilia with me or buy a new one (I've calculated) at Ikea for about 3500€ or there will be an alternative. However, it doesn't need to be 8 meters long and there won't be a Berbel for 3500 but one for 300 without discount. Since I'm an extreme flea market-goer (for almost every weekend for 30 years), I'm used to buying used. With a kitchen, I would have absolutely no problem with that. Better 3500 for a 3-year-old 10K kitchen than a new "cheap" one.

, alternatives would be showroom kitchens or used kitchens. With the used ones, there is occasionally something great. There is also a "residual value calculator" there. It's amazing what purchase value a kitchen still has after only a few years.

My former neighbors and I also used to go to these department stores. Sometimes you can find "totally cute" little things there, like ancient but flawless lead crystal cake stands or confectionery bowls. Those who like such things are well served there. A friend of mine, a single man, always buys 20-30 used champagne glasses/other glasses there before his birthdays, puts them in the dishwasher, celebrates his birthday, and then washes them again and returns them to the second-hand department store. I think it's a good idea, because why should he clutter up his single kitchen from the kitchen studio with glasses he only rarely needs.

But 8K EUR doesn’t include delivery and assembly, right?
Delivery costs another 125 € if I’m seeing that correctly, and assembly comes to 250 €/linear meter. So for your 6-8 meter kitchen that would be 1500-2000 € for installation.
And then there’s no high-voltage connection included, which means you’d have to hire an electrician for that and pay them travel fees as well.
The quartz composite countertop costs almost 400 € per meter. Depending on how many tall cabinets you have, that easily adds up to 2000-3000 € just for the countertop. So I’m not quite sure how you come to 8K in total.

We put together a comparable kitchen at IKEA, like the one the kitchen studio planned for us.
We came to about 13,000 € for the furniture and appliances. But that didn’t include assembly yet. If I add another 2500-3000 for assembly and delivery, I’m already at 15K. There’s still a roughly 4K price difference, which was worth it for us because that included Bosch appliances and a Bora cooktop with extractor, plus the countertop running around the island and fitting into all the windows with a wall finish. Some of that wouldn’t even have been possible at IKEA without further ado.

What exactly do you want from me? You are neither the ethics police nor do you tell me which examples I can use for comparisons! You always interpret everything negatively and accuse discriminatory intentions.
This was neither about the value of people nor about any social classes. You come here with arguments that have absolutely nothing to do with what has been written so far!
Of course you can always learn something from everyone, but to claim that you don’t need money to get by because people are generous and see that as THE solution simply does not work. At least not for everyone. Actually, it is very selfish!
You write here about "stranded" and "uneconomical people." What can we learn from them? What can I learn from someone who thinks uneconomically but still gladly receives social benefits from the state?
This was about the economy in Germany and the awarding of contracts to foreign companies and not about "life intelligence," as you call it, or how we can support the lower social classes. Just accept that!

And what I choose to write or not write is still up to me!
