Sounds like a non-negotiable price, high customization effort, or not such a simple standard after all.

Wrong expectations.

OP could post their draft so that people can take a look. But when I hear granite countertop, it seems that one didn’t just reach for the bottom shelf, and then here everything has full-extension drawers with soft-close and there a Le Mans corner cabinet, and before you know it you’ve spent 20k€.

We always started with clear budget guidelines with the kitchen planners and those were always exceeded by 50-70%. Meaning: we say 10k without appliances and end up at 17k. Then reminder of the budget and the usual game begins and you end up at 13k without appliances.

I think your question is great. Among other things, because I couldn't imagine the numbers circulating here in the forum about what kitchens cost nowadays. Even when it comes to the budget of builders, usually, if I remember correctly, it's set around 30,000 to 40,000. (Similar for the outdoor facilities.) However, by now I think that kitchens, which are often connected with the living room and dining room, partly also include the "purchase prices" for the living room and dining room. Unfortunately, I can't express it better. Then a few high-quality electrical appliances on top of that. We will stay well below that; in our case, the living room and dining room are also not integrated into the kitchen or vice versa, and we only need a kitchen for two people.

I have an Ikea kitchen (3 HS, total 5.20m) that with appliances cost under 8000 euros. 1000 of that went on the solid wood countertop. The induction cooktop and sink were bought used, "only" 1 oven. The layout largely determines whether it is a good kitchen. Show me your planned kitchen.

They are very pleasant neighbors. I have nothing negative to report.

Do I have to understand this now? Sounds pretty racist. I am a native Pole and have both passports, German and Polish. I could also start by saying that my grandfather was German and was forced by the Germans to fight in the World War, etc....

I have absolutely no problem if Poles, Turks, Asians, aliens, whoever lives next to me. Why should I? I do not judge a person based on their origin, but on their behavior...
