Well, the money is not lost. If I spend 70% less on my kitchen, then I have more money for truly local expenses. That way, I do more good for my community than if the money goes to Westphalia.
sorry, I do not base community on nationalities. The probability that my pension is also paid by Poles has probably decreased in recent years, but the chance that it is paid by Germans has as well. And this has little to do with where I buy my kitchen.
Do you buy your clothes exclusively at Trigema?
Nobody is claiming that either.
It is about the fact that companies based in Germany and their employees also pay their taxes here (exceptions aside)!
At first, it does not matter whether materials come from abroad or, as in the automotive industry, individual parts are manufactured there.
: I’m trying that too. Unfortunately, the truly local kitchen manufacturers near me are really just carpenters. And even if I could afford it, I can’t. That’s why giving up on the kitchen right away seems a bit over the top to me. But maybe I’ll buy the kitchen in Berlin after all. At least a few more Berlin warehouse workers will have paid taxes then...
It's not about absolute consistency in actions, but about a form of mindfulness that flows into the decisions. Not every decision has to be in favor of the local provider. That would be the same radical nonsense as always just looking for the lowest price.

It’s not just about the kitchen, but about the fundamental attitude whether a possible surcharge is worth it to source a purchase from locals or from the German economy, or whether one prefers a possible saving over the idea of support. And again: I am of the opinion that whoever receives parental allowance, who wants to send their children to reasonably clean schools, who wants to drive on decent roads, who wants to be at least somewhat protected against unemployment, must necessarily have an interest in supporting their own economy. And then comes the individual consideration of how much extra cost is possibly worth it to them.
