I'm not surprised. From my active time at a tax office, statements like "I have to be in tax class 3, otherwise my wife earns more than I do. That can't be" were common. Later, as a single person with a decent career (because I often left my comfort zone), it was also better for a woman to downscale professionally.

I also think you can't compare the size of a condominium and a single-family house. Nevertheless, as a young family, it works well enough, especially in expensive urban areas, in a townhouse or a semi-detached house with less than 130 sqm. Of course, you have to accept that there are compromises. Pantry, kids' bathroom, dressing room, en-suite bathroom, kitchen island just aren't possible.

I work at a car insurance company in the front office as a call center agent and my wife, since she doesn’t have a driver’s license, currently works at the bakery 2 minutes from our apartment. It’s a comfort zone! But for both of us. I don’t really want to let my wife go to Frankfurt, that’s too risky for me, and I know what I’m dealing with here every day.

I also have to honestly say when you look around you just see chaos. The commercial clerk in retail is now called Sales Manager, I don’t want to work there anymore anyway!!! The office tasks, which I have been doing for 12 years now, are presented online in such a way that I often think no one can work there without a degree. I am too passive because of my parents’ influence. My father worked at the same company for 45 years and my mother has also been with the same employer for almost 20 years now. But the more I read posts here, the more I realize that this is not the end and I just have to send an application. Thanks again for that.

A bit off topic, but it supports this:

When I lived alone as a single in my house, several "gentlemen" let me know that they would never move into this house, because it’s my house and not theirs. I then quickly "got rid" of those gentlemen again.

Yes, luckily they are interchangeable unlike the house.

Then your wife should get her driver's license. Especially since you want to orient yourselves rurally anyway. It doesn't work without it.

I am not a fan of musical chairs. You also can't generally say that you earn more elsewhere and have to switch. You have to look around.
What do you have to do to become a team leader? Further training or possibly changing employers.
Look for something in your field that makes you unique, that sets you apart from others. Someone reads your application and says, yes, that is good.

Job ads are sometimes very creative.
25 years young, male, completed studies, 30 years of professional experience, salary expectation at the level of a trainee wage
is wishful thinking, but not reality.
