@TE Have you ever considered doing another apprenticeship? Not necessarily in the commercial field, as often only minimum wage is paid there at the moment. There are too many without special skills. You are too young to spend 35 more years in a low-wage job that any semi-skilled worker can do. Whether a new apprenticeship or further training, without a house and children it is easier to reposition yourself.

Or he considers becoming self-employed

You can also become rich if it works out and the concept is right. And you can always build something like that on the side without having to give up your permanent job.

Just like with you, you wanted to subtly point that out, didn’t you!?

For a OP who describes themselves as "passive" and even struggles with a simple job change, coming out of nowhere with self-employment has only one purpose: to show between the lines what a great guy YOU are.

You have your own thread where you could have been specific to back up your self-presentation with some substance. Do that there and not here. Your handwaving is not a fine character trait.

I am a trained commercial clerk in retail, specializing in sanitary and wood. My wife is a trained service staff.

Currently in Mörfelden-Walldorf, south of Frankfurt.

Yes. At first, I even tried mainly to persuade my wife, since service staff are poorly paid anyway, and her salary was "negligible" at the beginning. Since my wife doesn’t have a driver’s license and won’t get one, for private reasons, and in my opinion you don’t necessarily need one nowadays, we discarded that option because, as already mentioned, she is 10 years younger and we would like to have children already. I myself would immediately do a training. I would prefer the IT sector, but here again the problem arises that, without having the debts paid off and without being able to reduce our monthly expenses so that we can get by on a training salary and a second income, it is practically impossible. But I am already trying to orient myself in that direction or in office work.

And once again for everyone... of course I could write pages of answers here and ask for help, but then this would be the wrong subforum. I think it is not impossible to get a home of your own, but something has to change of course, which is also happening but hasn't been mentioned by me. Nevertheless, thanks for your efforts and suggestions. Contrary to what I assumed, it actually feels good to hear outside opinions again, even if of course you only know a fraction of us.

And one more request, stimulating conversation, yes definitely, offensive posts or derogatory remarks please refrain from. Everyone is different, every relationship and above all, every opinion. What works well for me and my wife does not have to be 100% true for you and vice versa. So, love you all.

By the way, I don't recall saying I was passive. I have life experience and the clarity that comes with it not to throw myself blindly and unprepared into the unknown. If the financial situation were different, maybe my permanent job wouldn’t be as important to me as it currently is. Compared to others, I might come across as passive. But that only applies to decisions that change life.

I have even been self-employed twice and would do it again anytime in principle, but the idea of what and the compatibility with the current situation have to fit, and currently they do not.

And before anyone wonders why I am not anymore: poor planning and too little experience would be the main reasons.

yes, basically it is the case that without changes in the job and salary your wish will remain just a wish. Or something small and used
