As far as my shift supervisor is concerned, I can of course only assess his statement. Whether that's true I don't know, but I don't care one bit. Since we are in Hesse, according to IGBCE he has a classification of E10.

E10 has a gross salary from the table of €4351 at the final rate (gross). Married, 2 children. Privately insured. If I roughly calculate now, that's already just under €3500 net. Since everyone now knows that shift workers live off shift allowances, one can now calculate what special bonuses, performance evaluations, company bonuses, seniority allowances and who knows what else adds up.

In the future, I better say that I'm a cleaning man and can only and want to build a garden shed and that maybe €400 net comes in and the rest is Hartz IV top-up from the office, then some people here will surely feel better when they can trample on me. People, there are some^^

That is €2950 net if you calculate it not just roughly but exactly. So, worlds away from your €4800. €4800 is middle management in the chemical industry and far into the AT area. This usually requires a master's degree and work experience. It is impressive to have both at 25 already.

2.5% on 20 years is not good, but bad. This is at best a 100% financing. The double of 290sqm is also not more than the double of 180sqm, but then that is no longer important ...

2500€ as an installment + monthly additional costs, seriously? And you want to manage that with a minimum income of 4800€?
And then you still find 2.51% okay for 20 years? All information fits the age stated. My morning starts well. Thanks for that.

now here comes the dick-measuring uh payslip comparison again!

That doesn't help the OP either.

What I would be interested in, you mentioned Ing and 2,500 net / month together.

In which industry do you work and is a change to another industry with a higher salary not possible? You’re 33, not too old to change. Sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone and take a risk. With 2,500 net for 2 people, the risk is manageable...

Just an example from me: years ago I did an in-person "Jodel diploma" and worked my way up. My classmate wasn’t willing to get out of public transport. After years of frustration and little salary, he is finally putting himself on the market. We are now about 35,000 gross / year apart. At 38 he will never catch up with me again.

Somewhere the term minimum wage came up.

If I calculate:
1750 euros/month gross
Standard employee without children
1,231.62 euros/month net

That times two fits your mentioned range of 2400 to 2500 euros/month net.

At 40 hours per week, Google says you can calculate with 173.33 hours/month.

The hourly wage, gross, is therefore 10.10 euros. The minimum wage is currently 8.84 euros/hour.

So you earn above minimum wage. But not very far from it...

One can regret that, but with an income just above minimum wage, it was never and will never be possible to build wealth.
