With 0% financing, the discount is missing. Neither the stores nor the banks have a red cross on a white background. They are not non-profit organizations. It was criticized years ago by consumer protection that prices were often raised before promotions with 0% financing or we pay the VAT.

No, definitely not a discount for quick payment. As a cash payer, you are in a position to negotiate. Sometimes that’s even a 15% staff discount...

If I do that 3-4 times, I also have money left for a bed

You don’t even need to try that at the big furniture stores. They don’t negotiate. It’s different at smaller ones and with car dealers. Sure. Your teeth can’t be negotiated either. My husband needed a bridge ... €4500. Whether you pay in cash or in installments doesn’t matter to them.

In the case of the bed, there was a 25% promotion, where our dream bed (I tracked the price for almost a year) plus 10% discount because the model was being discontinued suddenly became much cheaper. With the final invoice, we were then asked how we wanted to pay. Conclusion: we would have paid the price anyway, whether in installments or cash.

The mattress was the same. Robi as well.

The problem with consumer loans is often that they are not used by people who can just invest €5000 per year in "joy of driving." These are people who buy a car for €5000 that then has to last 10 years.

And by the way - for about €1000 to €2000 of depreciation per year, you can already drive quite comfortably!

Our box spring bed, instead of 2800, after negotiating, only cost 2000, and that was at Möbel Maler (so not that small).
