Overall, there will be no universally valid solution anyway, especially when it comes to money.

What works for one person is different for another. The only common denominator is that there can be no common denominator.

But to follow up on this for myself, are [Bausparverträge] even worthwhile nowadays?
I have absolutely no knowledge about this, I just know that I invest money for 4-7 years and then get more back. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you really want to build, you can secure the low interest rates now. I have a "very" old building savings contract with 5% interest, which I am only allowed to contribute €1000 per year to, otherwise the poor bank has to pay me so much interest. At the moment, I only use it for saving (better than 0% in the account).

That's right. For those who really want to build, [Bausparen] is great. Low interest rate now for sure, very straightforward loan approval, no land register entry if saved, special repayments possible at any time. It doesn't get any better. Karsten

So, now another discussion starts, some finance experts claim that building or buying now is not necessarily the best choice. Due to the low interest rate phase, more people are currently, I always say building but mean both, building compared to before the "crisis". Thus, it could make sense to wait another 5-10 years because prices might fall again due to less demand.

But I have also read the exact opposite, on Capital Online if I’m not mistaken, that it makes sense to start everything now and take advantage of the financial benefit. The advantage would be that in 10 years the house and land would be worth more than what you basically paid now.

Both are understandable lines of thought

And both are speculation

Don't take it the wrong way, but if you have to take out such consumer loans, you simply cannot afford these things and/or your consumption behavior corresponds to that of a child. Because the purchase of such small items can also be postponed for a few weeks.
