one keeps walking and walking.... the table can become a bit bigger, but otherwise nothing is better. The hood hangs in front of the window.

> not much else is possible

Ok, yes, that is the question ;-)
But so far we simply haven't found anything better.

> "I would think twice about a dishwasher on the wall, the wall looks ugly very quickly, even if you are careful."

Yes, or no. Parents have it like that too, and nothing has really ever happened.
The question is: where else should the dishwasher go?
It can't go in the island area because then you can't use the island with the door open (trip hazard).

> "With such partial excerpts, it is actually not possible to plan well. Partial information is always a hindrance. Only one dining place? Floor-to-ceiling window on the right side of the plan .. exit to the terrace? Who cooks?"

There is a picture in the first post, showing the windows etc. The corner windows in the cooking area start at 140 cm, at the dining table at 120 cm, the door leads out to the terrace.
Only one dining place, cooking is done by man and/or woman (no kids involved).

> "just a tip. You can 'store' the microwave* above the oven in a separate wall cabinet with a flap hinge."
Thanks for the tip, might be an option.
Although we are reluctant to give up one of the two planned tall cabinets.
A small microwave could possibly also be "placed" in the cabinet by the terrace door.

> "I would fully occupy the wall to the WC with tall cabinets. Then the kitchen line is much more relaxed in arrangement."
Then you have corner cabinets at the top (and bottom), and we find these have a lot of "dead" space because you can hardly reach into the corners.

> "the position of the small window is bad. You could have placed the fridge in a better position."
Why is the position bad? Short distances to work surface and stove.

> "you walk and walk .... the table can be a bit bigger, but nothing else is better."

Where your table is now is the passage (sliding door) to the living room, where the 100 cm cabinets are is the terrace door.
And yes, we want an island ... we have had a U-shape for 25 years now ...

Here is a revised plan,
- in the corner next to the fridge now a small pantry cabinet (pull-out),
- some space next to the dishwasher (25 cm cabinet or pull-out garbage bin)
- stove now on the island

Thx to all!

Well .. a square room of this size and dining table = the only dining table, that actually doesn't fit well together. A complete floor plan view of your design with table size would be useful, because bottlenecks will occur.

120 .. 140 cm ??? From this floor plan you also can't tell that the exit really leads to the terrace .. as you just wrote now. You can't see the whole room, so you can't properly place the dining table. One assumes the right wall has about 470 cm length based on the indication of 21 sqm. You can't see paths from the rest of the living area into the kitchen etc.

OK, sorry, the first excerpt was a bit small - now more. The dining table is planned with 90 x 180 cm, although the dining table may be rotated by 90° contrary to the attached plan drawing.

No, no U. … you can still move the island. With the "whole" floor plan now, completely different ideas arise.

Now I’m coming :D
It somehow seems like a planning mistake. Ideally, when creating the floor plan, all rooms should be fully furnished. That’s what we’ve been preaching here for years.
The first picture looks like a mismatched kitchen from great-grandma’s times.
Now you just have to make the best of it.

4 windows, 2 walkways, and then eating/cooking in 20 sqm? Phew

Is that the main dining area in the kitchen? How many people?

Please at least use the quote function.
