Hello,
we have reached the electrical planning stage for our new build and want to plan it as well as possible in advance.
I am attaching a photo of the floor plans.
We are building with the developer Stein auf Stein using lime sandstone.
I will explain the rooms briefly:
Basement: self-explanatory
Ground floor: self-explanatory
1st floor: Room 2: master bedroom / Room 3: dressing room / Room 1: future children’s room
Attic/Studio: gaming corner and office/desk with laptop / cabinets for folders and such
I have already considered the following points:
Sat: Satellite dish with Quattro LNB will be mounted on the roof and distributed to all rooms via a multiswitch
1x = 1 double socket with 2 connections
Sat sockets: living room = 1x behind the TV / Room 1 = 1x / Studio = 2x (one in the top right corner and one in the bottom left) (top right will be the gaming corner with console and bottom left will be the office/desk with laptop in the studio)
and yes, we still want to use sat for example for live sports
LAN: everything to be done with CAT7 duplex
1x = 1 double socket with 2 connections
LAN sockets: living room = 1x behind the TV / Room 1 = 1x / Studio = 2x
wherever there is sat, the LAN double socket will also be installed
Garage = 1x
WLAN: We want to use access points for good WLAN and prepare them with flush-mounted boxes with keystone modules, which will then be powered by POE
We plan to install access points at the following locations / ceiling APs should be used
Ground floor = near the dining table centrally in the living-dining area / 1st floor = central in the hallway / Studio = I am not exactly sure where due to all the slants, maybe a wall access point in the studio and hang one on the wall by the stairs? (please advise on the studio)
Garden = should we plan 1 access point for the terrace as well?
1 access point per floor should be enough for us?
Lighting: difficult to explain / we have planned one ceiling lamp centrally in every room (which is standard) and then want to supplement with possibly floor lamps / possibly light strips behind furniture
Garage: 1 red socket 16/32A for a mobile wallbox
1 empty conduit 25mm for later retrofitting in the garden (power cable can then be routed through the garage wall into the garden and further distributed there)
Photovoltaic preparation: 2 empty conduits each 32mm (according to a solar company this should be sufficient) (we are only allowed to install photovoltaics after handover, unfortunately the developer prohibits it beforehand)
The conduits will of course be laid through to the roof covering
Sockets: very hard to explain, there are many
each LAN double socket has a double power socket (you can then put a multi-socket on the TV and that’s it)
and then several distributed in the room as needed
e.g. obviously fewer in the dressing room
totally: 18 single sockets and 11 double sockets (all included in the standard)
Roller shutters: all roller shutters are electrically operated and are controlled with a toggle switch next to the window
Smart Home: unfortunately we have to skip this, a KNX smart home is unfortunately currently beyond our budget
We have to do without a smart home / maybe we can or will retrofit a few things wirelessly (possibly the new wireless standard Matter once it arrives) for example the shutters
It would be enough for us to control a few things with Alexa/phone and set some if-then rules
(I know it is then not a real smart home but that would be enough for us)
How can we best prepare this cheaply? Install deep flush-mounted boxes everywhere for the wireless actuators and only lay 5-wire cables?
Video doorbell: we might want to retrofit a video doorbell later (only if needed), we are running a Cat cable from the standard doorbell and gong for a future POE doorbell
Our budget is about €5000 maybe a little more for special requests
What have we forgotten or what can we still improve?
I look forward to your advice/suggestions for improvements
Thank you very much.
