Should satellite TV still be installed in the new building at all?

It was primarily a contractual and cost issue with the IPTV provider that led to this individual decision. We do not miss IPTV.

The effort to install a SAT dish is not so simple for a layman! Especially the topic of grounding requires some familiarization with the subject. I will also soon put the dish on the roof. Unfortunately, I have no other option; otherwise, I would have used my old Self-Sat antenna.

But indeed: Without direct access to the roof, I wouldn't do it either.

Linear television is just uncomplicated and is suitable to have a redundant source of information.

We were also unsure about the topic and ultimately sampled a SAT system with 4 sockets....

We had the satellite dish we installed 10 years ago removed when repainting our facade. TV, Netflix, and more via Deutsche Telekom Magenta TV. Works perfectly and also not expensive in the package with mobile phone and TV!

I made the electrician's eyes widen about 3 weeks ago when I threw out the 5 or 6 SAT sockets included in the service. It must be pretty rare around here; quite a few neighbors have SAT dishes...

But I've been using Amazon Prime for more than 6 years now and Magenta TV for 2 years, and I don't want anything else anymore. I need the internet anyway...

And regarding interference resistance... you can also "switch off" satellites. That's quite easy.

I just found the thread through the search. Do you happen to remember how much credit (if any) you received for removing the SAT cabling? I'm currently considering something similar...
