Forget rules of thumb - you know: 1. Your hopefully realistically furnished future floor plan 2. Your current circumstances. Count specifically your users in these two scenarios - in 2. separately those who currently occupy multiple extension cords. If in any room the actual number falls below the rule of thumb, then exceptionally use the latter.

So it does make sense to think carefully about the wiring, since you rarely want to take the opportunity to lay cables again. :) It's best if you also know the furnishing. I myself would rather have two simple LAN sockets installed in the rooms where computers are to be used in different (e.g. opposite) places than a double socket, because the requirements for the room can change.

Regarding double sockets in general (e.g. also for TV locations): basically it doesn’t cost much more and you can do it. I would just not overestimate it. On the one hand, you either have one device or significantly more (e.g. TV, AV receiver, set-top box, game console, etc.). On the other hand, you can at any time easily install a small switch where you really have more devices. And finally: if you have very good Wi-Fi coverage, that is usually enough. And Unifi also has the In-Wall HDs: they offer a Wi-Fi access point for the wall and at the same time two(?) outgoing LAN ports.

If I had to plan the access points in your place, I would probably have the APs installed in the following spots on the ceilings. The upper floor with the three rooms in a row seemed the most difficult to me. You could have a connection installed in the ceiling of the bedroom. If you don’t need an access point there, you can put a blank cover over it. And in the basement you could alternatively install the access point directly in the office (at door height) on the ceiling.

I would position the APs exactly as has already marked. Additionally, one more in the outdoor area (terrace/garden)

You have a nice avatar picture - do you live there / is it edited / is the street really that clean?

Thank you. Yes, that is our house and the picture has not been edited. The street was recently paved.
