I know it so far that one third is left as a reserve. That usually works out well. Naming absolute figures is useless. No one knows exactly what will be included and how tightly the electrician installs everything.

That would be unfortunate, because the VDE prescribes a minimum cross-section of 10mm² for sub-distributions. And if you install some lights, a few sockets, and a wallbox, then that is already a sub-distribution.

I know this because I am also planning a sub-distribution in the shed and my electrician immediately offered me 5x10², saying he is not allowed to install less.

Please show the excerpt from the VDE. I would be very surprised if I had to supply every small garage, garden shed, or floor distributor with 5x10mm². Sounds like a misinterpretation of the term sub-distribution to me.

Do I have to ask the electrician at the next conversation.
I mainly wanted to refer to "Das macht der Elektriker ungerne, weil 10² so schwer zu biegen ist..."

PS:
In the end, it's as always. Everything goes well, no one asks.
Burn down the place and someone reads it like that, then there's no money.

I do hope you have heard of circuit breakers before. Thanks to this invention, lines can be dimensioned and protected according to the requirements.

Super thread!

One question: Are there concerns about putting the network cabinet in an old building basement with 65-70% humidity, or can routers, switches, NAS handle that?
