Regarding patch panels and "keystone": In my experience, there are indeed small variations in the fit. Not every keystone module from every manufacturer fits "snugly" into every "keystone" patch panel even though the standard was exactly designed for this

Please absolutely do NOT install Cat6! Cat7 has been the minimum standard for decades. Cat7a is also welcome (approx. €100 extra per 500m duplex cable).

For each wallbox, please provide 2 LAN cables (one for the network, one for a possibly necessary serial connection to "system devices" (with us to the Zappi HUB or Harvey). Of course, a sufficiently dimensioned power cable. Depending on the connection length, the electrician will calculate that.

Also provide a network connection for an inverter, of course. Again, duplex is recommended; better to have more than you need, and the additional cost should be low since the inverter is usually close to the electrical distribution board and the network cabinet.

That's how I also read it. The patch panel into which he clips his keystones can't cost him the earth. That's why we agreed on it that way.

He said in response to my question about which Cat cable: "Yes, uh, CAT 6 or 7 I think..." then I said "so it has to be at least Cat 7, definitely not Cat 6."

That’s really annoying me right now. We can only fit 11.7 kWp on the roof. Therefore, I’m considering whether it will be just one wallbox with two cables for the cars, which will first fully charge one car and then the other. Then 1x high-voltage power and 1x network in the garage and one connection from the photovoltaic system to the switch would be sufficient, right?

Hey,

next week the ceiling will be installed and then poured. We want to lay the cables for lighting and [Accesspoint] now. Is an exposed network cable enough for the [Accesspoint] or should you rather use a flush-mounted box? In principle, I can just drill the [Accesspoint] directly into the ceiling, or is there something against that?

Thanks!

If only the cable is sticking out of the ceiling, you will have a problem with the access point, as there is usually no space behind it for the cable piece let alone the connector.

Ok, thank you very much. Then I will lay the empty conduit with wire in the classic way. That should work, right?

I would generally install all telecommunications cables as replaceable in the conduit. Unlike electricity, it might be necessary to use a different cable in the medium term.

Typical execution with APs is to mount a Keystone module onto the installation cable and connect the Keystone module to the access point using a short patch cable. For a concrete ceiling, a box is needed to accommodate the cable piece with Keystone, and the access point is mounted in front of the box. For a suspended ceiling, the excess cable can be pushed into the ceiling cavity, so no box is required.
