4 minute rule...

Oh, and look for something where the internal bandwidth fits, I've seen 8-port switches that only have 3gbps internal bandwidth... that probably exists for 24-port ones too... it would be pretty pointless if all ports have 24gbit but the bandwidth is so narrow

Thank you for your detailed and critical feedback, Araknis,
thank you for the concrete recommendation and experience, Reggert. :)

I have the Ubiquiti NanoHDs on the list. However, I am not fixed on them. They have been recommended here several times and I like their appearance.

SFP/UP-Link:

Can it be summarized like this: If the 24 regular ports are more than enough for me, I don’t need SFP/UP-Link?

By "gut feeling" I meant that I read through the functions and quickly noted for myself that we don’t need them, unless you see a compelling benefit here. Sorry for the lack of clarity. VLAN is, for example, like using a cannon to shoot our home network sparrow. I’d like to use Sonos someday for the TV and the record player. But that can easily take another 2-3 years.

I will post my selection shortly. Would you keep an eye on whether they fit the NanoHDs?

I have the successor model (?) on the list. It’s coming now. :)

Here is my initial selection. With name/model/features and price. Unfortunately, links cannot be posted:

1. ZyXEL GS1900-24EP 24 ports, 12 PoE+ 130W, smart/managed, 259 €
2. ZyXEL GS1915-24EP 24 PoE 130W, smart/managed, 299 €
3. TP-Link TL-SG 1428PE 28 ports, 24 PoE, 250W, smart/managed, 277 €
4. Netgear GS324TP 24 ports, 24 PoE, smart/managed 190W, 319 €
5. Netgear GS324PP 24 ports, 24 PoE, smart/managed, 380W, 325 €
6. YuanLey 24 ports, 24 PoE, unmanaged, 400W, 249 €
7. YuanLey 26 ports, 24 PoE, 400W, unmanaged, 170 €

Is there a clear favorite from your perspective for my application or models I should exclude? The YuanLeys were suggestions from the shop and seem very cheap to me. Should these be excluded? Do you have another favorite not on the list?

It is unmanaged. Unfortunately, I can no longer correct it above. All are PoE+.

It might be quite good to know which access points you have chosen so that we can see if they work with that :)

I MEAN managed is better because they then have igmp etc., otherwise it can happen that you flood your network with broadcasts and it then becomes slow because the devices don’t know where to send what.
Multicast avoids the problem because it is known where what should go.
Warning, just layman knowledge, I just took it because the price difference was small.

In general, at least with switches, you can always take something used that is a bit cheaper... the average lifespan of switches is 100-300k hours, you will change before that anyway ;)
