So that it actually becomes somewhat productive: I would have the highest available cable category installed in empty conduits. Then a good keystone patch panel to go with it, and you will be well-equipped for many years. By the time there is actually a need for > 10 GbE in a private home, there might have been some changes to the connectors anyway. Since you have everything modular with keystones, you could then simply swap them out. Also remember that the outlet sockets in the rooms should also have keystones or at least space and spare cable to make changes there.

If you already know that, as a graphic designer or video producer, you (really) need to move and store large amounts of data, you can also consider fiber optic cables at critical points like the location of the workstation(s) and the data storage.

Could someone please help me with my "is the fryer really hanging by just a thin cable" astonishment? I'm already embarrassed to have to drop my pants anonymously here with you all, I’d like to avoid that with the electrician tomorrow. :D

The Fritzbox comes with an adapter cable, TAE to RJ45. This can either be connected directly to the WAN/DSL port of the box or passed on RJ45-side via a regular network cable within the house if the Fritzbox is not to be placed near the TAE. However, not through a switch, but only through the cables!

Thanks! That is clear to me so far, I just don't know which cable from the network cabinet where the FritzBox is located goes to the multi-utility/APL?

I told you... completely normal network cabling like in the rest of the house. At the end, either an RJ45 coupler or, if you want it really neat, a very small patch panel. Then the thin DSL cord is connected to it.

If there are other devices like a heat pump, inverter, etc. at that point, you can also provide accordingly more cables.

Thank you. So completely without a TAE connection? It must then be a network cable with an RJ45 plug at both ends and no keystone modules, right?
