First, plan the cable network (CAT-7 is only slightly more expensive than the lower-grade cables) and run the cables to a central patch panel where there is space for the internet access router, a sufficiently large switch, and possibly a network storage device, and to which the provider's internet connection is also routed. Just draw this as a diagram, then you'll make progress. The cables go to the connection points (WLAN access, network sockets in the rooms, TV locations...) as you like. You set up WLAN with the access points. Network sockets definitely don’t have to cost 200€. For the TV in the living room, you can add a small switch so you don’t have to build so many sockets into the wall. If you want to build for the future, you can also lay fiber optic in the house right away – however, most of your devices will still need adapters at the moment – so it’s not that great for the present.

In principle, I imagine that my central patch panel will find its place in the technical room in the basement, correct? Here I have space for any network storage, etc. In other words, this is the "master room" from which I can distribute all kinds of things. From there, I can then plan the respective installation, provide enough LAN sockets in the rooms, and set up WLAN access points on the ground floor as well as in the attic.

For a "non-tech freak," this is surely sufficient, properly equipped, and this way you also have the possibility to work with switches, etc. on the respective floors... ?

In the case of Magenta TV from Telekom, you should also familiarize yourself with the topics IGMPv3 and switches. It has nothing to do with the wiring, but with the required devices. Otherwise, unfortunately, it won't work out with the TV reception from Telekom.

Yes, I had read about that too... So I have to connect a suitable switch to the Magenta TV box, correct? Surely Telekom could also be the right contact for me as soon as it comes to moving in.

The best place for a hub is equally close to all spokes. The patch panel itself is a passive component and accordingly does not generate heat. However, it is also conveniently located near switches, bridges, and routers, which in turn benefit from cooling and like to be close to each other or to the house entry point of the media. I don’t know your floor plans. Typically, I usually don’t start a second distribution under 25-30 endpoints, so in a single-family house you will usually correctly speak of your patch panel in the singular. In forums, you often find a team with the username , who regularly help better than the general hotline 330....

The TK won't tell you much about that. They will say that everything behind the Speedport is not within their support scope. I can only recommend that you deal intensively with the subject. In the end, it will be your network. TK only provides the connection.
Nothing is more annoying than hotline statements that sound like: "Please make sure that the receivers are connected directly via cable to the Speedport." or "Please restart the Speedport." or "Please disconnect all other devices from the network."
These are students in this case who have no idea what's going on behind it and that there is much more than just Speedport and Wi-Fi.
